Remote Activities for K-8 Students: Engaging and Standard Aligned

October 8, 2020

Lesson planning is a huge part of teaching and up until this past March, most of us planned on delivering our lessons to our students in person. The reality of today is that, depending on a variety of factors, we don’t know if our  students will be in the classroom six-feet apart or behind a screen. If you, like many of us, are finding it challenging to create engaging and meaningful lessons, I’d like to share our searchable student activities database with you.

The content is for grades K-8 and searchable by:

  • Math

  • Social Studies
  • ENL, CR-SE and IEP Supports
  • Common Core, NG Science, and CA + NY Social Studies Standards

Student Activities

The lessons are designed to be 3-to-10 day interactive student projects, which
teachers can customize while students learn remotely. Each lesson has identified learning targets along with the Standards it is aligned to.

For example: let’s say, based on your Early Reading Assessment (click here to learn more)
you need a phonics unit, these are some of the projects available for you to customize.

These are just a few samples of the free lessons we have available for you because you are a part of the Teaching Matters education community. We hope you find them not only useful but engaging and impactful as well.
